Prior to performing a Contract in Pakistan, Foreign Contractors are expected to qualify to do business in Pakistan. This means licensing a Branch Office through the Government of Pakistan.
The second stage of Branch Licensing would involve Corporate Filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (‘SECP’).
The Contractor would also require Multiple Entry Work Visas for their expat technicians and staff.
Setting-up the Bank Account.
Residential, Office, Staff House and Warehouse Leases.
Temporary Import of Plant and Machinery.
Contracts for Hiring Local Contractors and other Service Providers.
Employment Contracts for hiring local staff and labor.
National Tax Registration Number.
HR Registrations with Payroll Agencies such as Old Age Institution (EOBI), Education Tax (Education Cess), Shops and Establishment Organization, Social Security, Professional Tax etc.
Representation before any Government Agencies, Rights of Way and general public relationing.
Tax Consultations in relation to Branch Office, and tax withholding advice and assistance vis-à-vis local subcontractors and direct-hire staff.
Day-to-day consultations, advice and opinions in relation to Customs, Labor, Foreign Exchange, Contracts, Engineering, Environmental, Town-Planning and other laws of Pakistan.
